I was just tempted to cause an international incident...some man walked by me at the grocery store. He muttered something as he walked by. I thought he was talking to himself...then it sank in what he said. I was pissed, but I was going to just let it go. There are jack asses everywhere.
A couple of minutes later, he walked by again. He was still muttering...but this time I understood him perfectly.
What to do???
At home, I'd let the guy have it...I'm in another country, and let's face it, they don't rank high on the "respect for women" list.
I went to another aisle...here he came again. I stared him down.
When he walked back down the aisle, he started to say something, and I turned around and told him that where I was from, I - by all rights could have slapped him - and precisely because of where I'm from, he's lucky I didn't punch him. (I'm southern, and we simply don't put up wth crap like that...once and you might ignore it, but this we'd address.)
I think he was rather surprised. He seemed very startled and started apologizing profusely - still not looking at me.
Grrrr....interntional incident avoided...anybody touches me...international incident be damned. Somebody's getting decked!
Perhaps I should have been flattered as he was abut 20 years younger than me.
